Halimas Saayid
[ * Fayrid (imp
USA) x Serdika by S.Sadik]

November 2006 Colt
Saayid has an impeccable
pedigree of world-renowned proven bloodlines and
Champions. Bred by Forest Hill Arabians, he carries
some of the most sought after genes in the current
international Arabian horse industry including that
of Anaza El Farid, the sire of Ghazal Al Shaqab who
in turn is the sire of superstar Marwan Al Shaqab.
Saayid’s sire is an outstanding young Straight
Egyptian son of Faahim (dec’d), and his dam is a
daughter of international ‘star’ Simeon Sadik and
the incredible Australian show mare Serrefa.
Serdika herself a champion and Australian Top Ten
mare is also the dam of the 2006 Australian National
Champion Stallion Sadiks Psyche.
Saayid was carefully
selected by Team De-Sharvarll as an outcross sire
for our Vox daughters and the Polish-Egyptian
division of our breeding program.
We would like to express
our appreciation to Peter and Jenny Pond of Forest
Hill Arabians NSW, not only for breeding Saayid, but
affording us the opportunity of his acquisition.
Saayid will be campaigned at halter.

An exciting week at
De-Sharvarll
November 12th
saw the arrival and visit of Jerzy Zbyszewski from
the USA. Better known as “George Z.”, he has an
international equine consulting business based in
America specializing in importing, promoting,
leasing, and exhibiting some of the finest Arabian
horses in the world. His imports include the
acclaimed Polish National, Scottsdale, Canadian
National and US National Champion stallion *Emanor;
Canadian National Champions Kwestura, Zagrobla,
Fallada, El Dorada, Pianissima and US Res. National
Champion stallion Ganges.
George is also a popular
USEF “R” and internationally rated judge. He has
been to Australia in the past and judged at
Canberra, but this was his first visit to
Queensland. He is also co-author of the book
The Arabian Horse: Poland’s National Treasure
published by the Arabian Horse Times.

George spent a week here
at the invitation of hosts Peter Rutten and Tony
Midson discussing issues based around the
international Arabian Horse Industry. As well as
seeing our horses and projected breeding program in
action, it also gave him a chance to visit with our
two imported Polish mares, Demokracja US (by
Emanor) and Francjeska (by Ganges). The week
also included some local site-seeing showing George
the Australia Zoo, the Glasshouse Mountains and the
Gold Coast giving him a taste of Queensland. The
visit was invaluable and everyone enjoyed the time
spent with this humorous, vastly knowledgeable and
most likeable personality.

IN MEMORIUM

Gedye Lattika
1988 - 2007
[*Khundjur x Lamexa by *Mexi]
Lattika was our senior
matron and the only daughter of Lamexa [*Mexi x
Lambitia by *Ambition] – a truly elegant mare of
old world beauty and type, size and substance,
plus a soft, gentle temperament with an
irreplaceable pedigree.
In spite of all
precautions she was one of the first of our herd to
show symptoms of EI infection at just a few days
after foaling. While she did not run a temperature
she did manifest the deep wracking cough that this
disease causes. We believe it was this cough
and the associated dehydration the virus
creates that caused the bowel torsion which
necessitated her being euthanized. We were lucky to
find a carer with experience in orphaned foals to
take her 6 day old Vox colt to try and save him. We
are so fortunate to have her 2005 pure Polish filly
De-Sharvarll Eyelyka by Bittersweet by *Creme
Dynasty.
We are told that EI in
itself is not a killer virus, but the complications
associated with it are! Our deepest sympathies go
to all those who have lost horses due to
complications from this unmitigated disaster.

Supreme Champion Arabian

De-Sharvarll Vaneeka
[ Vox x Araluca
Angelique by *Destinado ]
We are extremely proud
of this win by one of our very special Vox
daughters. Vaneeka is from his initial foal crop
and the first of his progeny to be shown. To be
awarded Supreme Champion against the seasoned senior
horses was so exciting. This achievement qualified
her for the 2008 Australian Arabian National
Championships. She fulfilled all our expectations
and more. We are confident that this tall,
incredibly balanced and elegantly beautiful filly
has a great future ahead of her.
